Program note 

This is one of Syrse’s most recent scores. The Mexican composer and singer deploys the rhythmic drive that characterizes her music, in a kind of highly virtuosic moto perpetuo whose interest is renewed not through silences or calm passages, but through the use of stark dynamic contrasts and the exploration of the full range of the keyboard. From what at first appears to be mechanical virtuosity emerges a living body—interrupted, fractured—marked by irregular accents and an indecipherable metric structure. The piece was commissioned by the pianist Joel Sachs.
