Program note
Ágrafos emerged from a process of deep introspection and a search for a language capable of expressing thoughts, emotions, and experiences shaped by a period of isolation. The impossibility of meeting, distance, confinement, and loneliness profoundly transformed the ways we communicate. During lockdown, human contact was largely mediated by screens. This experience suggested a parallel with ancient forms of expression: faced with the impossibility of communicating as before, we had to find new ways to express ourselves.
The work traces the emotional journey an individual may undergo in the face of loneliness and isolation. Different states, emotions, colors, and tensions unfold throughout the piece in a continuous inner fluctuation. These elements gradually accumulate and transform, eventually erupting into chaos, where everything seems to explode and break free. From this immense surge of energy, a catharsis emerges, bringing the musical discourse to its culmination.
