Presentation
Eight Latin American composers converge in this concert at the emblematic Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. Between the performative energy of Scratch Cat! by Mexican composer Diana Syrse and the critical vitality of Del habla y el despojo by Colombian composer Andrés Moscoso—both scores published by Sur—unfolds a journey that connects diverse sonic imaginaries: intimate landscapes, reinvented mythologies, processes of memory, and explorations of voice and body. Pianist Diego Sánchez-Villa, a specialist in contemporary Latin American music, offers a panorama in which different generations and geographies intersect.
Hosted by the Coordinación Nacional de Música y Ópera, the concert takes place within the framework of the 47th Foro Internacional de Música Nueva Manuel Enríquez, one of the largest contemporary music gatherings in Latin America.
