Program note

This work, one of three scores selected in the first edition of the Premio Sur de Música Nueva Latinoamericana, was composed in 2020 but remained unknown to the public until its premiere and publication six years later.

Rayuela is a traditional children's game played throughout Latin America. A series of numbered squares and a final circle are drawn on the ground. Comprising ten pieces, this work takes each square as the starting point for an observation of a children's game.
